Located at 50Km south-west of Tokyo, Kamakura is well know for its temples, shrines and its monumental buddha. Enoshima is a small island in the Sagami bay, close to the mouth of the Katase river, linked to Katase, Fujisawa City with a 600-merter long bridge.
The Kamakura and Enoshima journey is one of the "best-of" of "out of Tokyo" trips. At one hour from Tokyo you can easily reach Enoshima and Kamakura by the Odakyu Enoshima Line from Shinjuku Station to Fujisawa, then by Enoden Line. Alternatively by Japan Railway from Tokyo to Ofuna, then by Shonan monorail from Ofuna to Enoshima.
