Video survaillance cameras, monitoring systems... and an anti-video surveillance demonstration in Levallois-Perret, France. The demonstration is organized by the french collective "Souriez, vous êtes filmés" (Please smile, You are Being Filmed) to protest against video surveillance and social control. In 1991, the municipality of Levallois-Perret, close to Paris, started to install surveillance cameras. According the Levallois-Perret mayor's, Mr. Balkany, the first aim of the video surveillance system was to prevent traffic congestion and, secondary, to increase security. Today the video surveillance system sill in place with approximatly 100 cameras.
